Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) is ISS's outsourcing asset building strategy to help customers manage their growing operations. Shifting clients' outsourcing dollars into an investment and asset building strategy allowing them to own their own dedicated offshore operation.

Evolution of the offshore services model into BOT model

Traditionally, there have been two options for companies trying to adopt offshore services: engage a vendor who offers offshore services, or set up their own facility. ISS offers a third alternative. The BOT model enables the transfer of ownership of people, product and infrastructure. This enables a company to protect its intellectual property by retaining individuals with system knowledge and the proven processes. The client takes advantage of the lower costs as compared to typical outsourcing pricing models, while building a valuable strategic asset for the company.

Recruiting individuals or teams with the skill-set required by the client, through local or international recruitment on behalf of the client or build around existing team of experienced people, processes and infrastructure.

Operate the operation on behalf of the client by:

Providing the management layer, operational infrastructure (including local accounting, legal compliance etc), office space, to build and operate an effective team to customer needs with the right people, processes, tools and technologies that is to be owned by the client.

Transfer part or full ownership to the client at any stage by:

Identifying the services and people that the client wishes to directly own (and pay for directly) and for ISS to manage.
